Soldiers on Parade

--Were you looking for army, a branch of the ZX Clan?--

Field armies, also known as armies on some occasions, are impressively large units. They are the second largest independant field unit, next to army groups, and are the largest units that will be used outside of war times.

Structure[]

A field army will contain two to four corps, and a senior operations staff. The command staff contains the officer commanding (a general) and the second in command (a lieutenant general), who are directly in charge of the field army and indirectly in charge of all the units below it.

The operations staff contains the signals officer (a lieutenant colonel), who is in charge of the field army's communications, the intelligence officer (a lieutenant colonel), who is in charge of gathering and organizing the field army's intelligence, the medical officer (a colonel), who is in charge of the medical personnel in the field army, and the administrative officcer (a colonel), who is in charge of the field army's administration. Lastly is the operations officer (a brigadier general), who is in charge of planning operations along with the field army's officer commanding, second in command and intelligence officer.

Role A field army is usually responsible for a front, or part of a theatre. In war times however, an army group will usually be responsible for fronts, or medium to large theatres.

Integration[]

Field armies are composed of two to four corps, and two or more field armies make up an army group. Field armies are the largest units that can be deployed in non-wartime, and the second largest unit that can be deployed during wartime. Outside of wartimes, multiple field armies will make up a theatre. Field armies are usually numbered within their military. For example, a field army could be designated First ZX Army.
